What You’ll Do Here
• Review mortgage loan applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with lending guidelines.
• Verify and analyze borrower information, including income, employment, credit history, and assets.
• Request and obtain required documentation, such as pay stubs, bank statements, tax returns, and property appraisals.
• Review credit checks and assess borrower creditworthiness.
• Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and other parties involved to resolve any outstanding issues or concerns related to loan applications.
• Ensure all loan documents and disclosures are accurately prepared and executed.
• Coordinate loan closings and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
• Maintain regular communication with borrowers to provide updates on the loan process and address any questions or concerns.
• Maintain organized records of loan applications, documents, and communications.
• Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the loan processing cycle.
What you Bring
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in finance or related fields is a plus.
• 3-plus years of experience as a loan processor within the banking, mortgage, or lending industry.
• Knowledge of loan products, underwriting guidelines, and relevant regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, HMDA).
• Knowledge of Fair Housing Act and other relevant lending laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with loan origination software, financial analysis tools, and documentation management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate data entry and document verification.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with borrowers, loan officers, and other stakeholders effectively.
• Proficient in using computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, and email software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
