Summary The Distribution Manager Thailand, provides operational, compliance and coordination support for Thailand distribution operations, including import licensing, customs clearance, regulatory documentation, logistics execution, and routine third-party logistics provider (3PL) management. The role is expected to independently manage complex shipment and compliance matters, provide guidance to internal stakeholders, coordinate with external partners, identify operational risks early and drive practical improvements that support timely delivery, compliance and customer satisfaction in Thailand. This is an individual contributor role without any people reporting or team management to begin with. Will have team to manage in the future as the Thailand business grows. This role is expected to operate from Resmed Bangkok thrice a week including a weekly/ fortnightly visit to DKSH 3PL. This role will have a overseas reporting into Regional Head of Distribution Emerging Markets Asia.
Job Description
The Distribution Manager Thailand supports daily distribution operations for Thailand, with a focus on ensuring inbound shipments are compliant with local import and licensing requirements, cleared efficiently and delivered successfully to customers. The role carries responsibility for end-to-end shipment readiness, issue escalation, partner coordination, process discipline and operational governance for Thailand operations. The role works closely with Sales Administrator, Planning, Supply Hub, Regulatory Affairs, QA, Finance, freight forwarders, 3PL warehouse partner and internal commercial teams. The role is expected to operate with a reasonable degree of independence, make sound decisions in non-routine Thailand operational situations and lead routine operational follow-up with external partners. Let’s talk about Responsibilities Import licensing and compliance ownership Manage required Thailand TISI approvals and permit applications for where applicable and proactively follow up on pending approvals. Manage Thailand NBTC label processing, including document readiness checks and coordination with 3PL warehouse. Monitor Thailand import license validity and maintain forward-looking renewal trackers to ensure Regulatory Affairs is notified early before expiry. Coordinate with appointed freight forwarders and internal teams on customs clearance requirements, shipment documentation and exception handling. Logistics execution and shipment issue leadership Coordinate end-to-end shipment clearance activities with appointed freight forwarders, including Thailand customs clearance and FDA clearance requirements. Manage delivery schedule, including delivery date, quantity, product details and any material changes to shipment status with the 3PL. Lead follow-up for damaged, missing, delayed or blocked shipments, ensuring clear communication, timely escalation and closure of corrective actions. Coordinate with the Customer Supply Chain on replacement shipments, credit note issuance and customer-impacting shipment exceptions. Anticipate operational bottlenecks and work with internal and external stakeholders to prevent avoidable delivery delays. 3PL coordination and warehouse operations governance Manage routine coordination with the appointed 3PL, including operational documentation, product mapping, redress mapping, Advance Shipment Notices and warehouse readiness follow-up. Act as the key operational contact for day-to-day 3PL coordination, ensuring warehouse activities are aligned with agreed processes and business priorities. Coordinate with the 3PL warehouse team and visit the warehouse when required to review service performance, operational readiness, open issues and follow-up actions. Work with the 3PL to check product-related materials, including user guides and product labels, to support sufficient stock, redressing and distribution readiness.
