As a Financial Manager focused on Technology Infrastructure, you will have financial and strategic oversight for managing and optimizing the significant investments Pinterest makes in its technology infrastructure (primarily AWS, our cloud-based computational and storage provider). This is a critical role that sits at the center of how Pinterest executes its technology and innovation strategy. You will play a key role - in partnership with technology infrastructure leadership - in governing our infrastructure investments, managing key vendor relationships (especially AWS) and ensuring we can cost effectively serve Pinners and Advertisers while also enabling future technological innovation … while also being able to allocate and track costs at the appropriate level within the company. These teams and technology service providers are the foundation of our online service as well as how our Engineering, Product and Design teams execute their work.
What you'll do
• Partner with Engineering, Infrastructure and Technical Program Management teams to develop annual, monthly, and weekly operational investments and related infrastructure demand and financial forecasts
• Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis
• Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and grow OPEX and infrastructure forecasting, and reporting tools and processes
• Champion and AI-First approach to Technology finance partnership — embedding AI tools into forecasting, metrics analysis, and finance decision-making to raise the bar for how Finance drives impact
• Design usage prediction models for short and long-term resource capacity needs
• Proactively identify risks and opportunities
• Perform strategic, time-sensitive analysis and communicate key takeaways
What we're looking for
• Experience with forecasting expenses, with a strong preference for prior experience managing technology infrastructure spending on public infrastructure cloud platforms and product offerings
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate financial analysis and forecasting workflows, with a rigorous approach to validating outputs and maintaining critical ownership of final recommendations
• Experience in managing multiple work-streams end-to-end along with working across multiple functions and teams
• Expertise in building high-level and detailed financial models
• Strong business partnership skills and
