About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Wealth Underwrite experienced in Commercial Real Estate Lending Underwriter with strong expertise in borrower and collateral underwriting. The candidate should be skilled in analyzing personal and business financial statements, interpreting U.S. tax returns, evaluating entity structures, and determining global cash flows and key financial ratios. The role requires in-depth knowledge of CRE collateral analysis, including property performance, cash flow assessment, market risk evaluation, and review of third-party reports such as appraisals and environmental reports. The underwriter will prepare comprehensive credit memoranda and provide well-supported lending recommendations. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for portfolio monitoring, covenant compliance, annual reviews, and managing loan renewal, modification, and servicing requests for assigned relationships In this role, you will: Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables and contribute to large-scale planning related to Wealth Underwriting Review, analyze, and evaluate borrower financial data for moderately complex high-net-worth loans to determine credit worthiness and monitor existing portfolio to identify issues that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors; present recommendations for resolving moderately complex situations Independently resolve moderately complex business, operational, or technical issues and lead team to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of Wealth Underwriting functional area policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements Develop solid understanding of Commercial Real Estate Lending policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements for Wealth Investment Management client as needed Collaborate and consult with Wealth Underwriting peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; serve as a mentor for lower level staff Provide input to assist leaders with credit risk management decisions to ensure satisfactory credit portfolio risk examinations Required Qualifications: 7+ years of Wealth Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualification Borrower and Financial Analysis Perform comprehensive credit analysis of individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, corporations, and other borrowing entities. Analyze Personal Financial Statements (PFS), business financial statements, and supporting documentation to assess borrower strength, liquidity, leverage, and repayment capacity. Review and interpret U.S. tax returns, including individual (Form 1040), partnership (Form 1065), corporate (Forms 1120/1120S), and trust returns, to determine sustainable cash flow and identify potential risks. Evaluate organizational and formation documents, ownership structures, guarantor relationships, and complex entity structures. Calculate and interpret key financial metrics, including debt service coverage ratios, liquidity metrics, leverage ratios, debt-to-income ratios, net worth calculations, and global cash flow analysis. Perform detailed reviews of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and supporting schedules to identify trends, risks, and mitigating factors. Commercial Real Estate Collateral Underwriting Conduct thorough collateral reviews across various commercial real estate asset classes, including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, hospitality, mixed-use, and special-purpose properties. Analyze property operating statements, rent rolls, leasing trends, occupancy levels, and historical operating performance. Evaluate property cash flows and determine stabilized Net Operating Income (NOI), Debt Service Coverage Ratios (DSCR), and valuation metrics.
