About this role
We are looking for a Senior Content Delivery Manager based in Tokyo to lead content delivery and launch operations for Amazon MGM Studios growing Japan Originals slate. This role will serve as the strategic operational leader for Studio Content Services (SCS) in Japan, partnering closely with local Post Production and Production teams, the Global Delivery Manager, and teams across Studio Content Services, supporting both original productions and acquisitions for Amazon MGM Studios. The Sr. Content Delivery Manager will lead the end-to-end Studio Content Services operational framework for Japan — designing and optimizing processes for intake, launch, and asset management while ensuring that each title (Movies and Series) receives successful: a) definition of deliverables, b) appropriate quality assurance for Original Version deliverables, c) timely intake of needed materials into Studio systems and processes, d) clean support for all streaming launch activities, and e) appropriate asset storage and management for downstream usage. The Sr. Content Delivery Manager will serve as the primary Studio Content Services point of contact for assigned titles, overseeing delivery schedules, solving complex challenges with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and ensuring content is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role will lead the coordination of intake and launch operational support between the Japan-based operation and Amazon’s LA-based Global SCS teams, ensuring that local Japanese needs and time-zone requirements are addressed even while aspects of operations are handled elsewhere. The role requires building and implementing Studio Content Services operational strategies for the Japan territory — making trade-offs between short- and long-term needs, mitigating risk, and balancing speed, quality, and resource constraints as the Originals slate scales significantly. This position is responsible for identifying and resolving complex operational challenges, making effective trade-offs between delivery timelines and studio release plans, and driving clear communication across languages, time zones, and organizational boundaries. The ideal candidate will be both tactical and strategic — comfortable managing multiple series and movies annually while simultaneously designing long-term solutions, scaling workflows, influencing partner teams to establish and grow Studio Content Services operations in Japan. Key job responsibilities 1. Serve as the strategic Content Delivery leader for Japan, partnering with Japan Post Production, Global Delivery Manager, Studio Content Services Prime Video Delivery Operations and senior leaders to drive cross-functional initiatives and influence long-term operational goals, and author strategic documents (eg delivery SOPs, process improvements, slate status reports) to drive alignment. 2. Own and drive the on-time, on-budget delivery of movies and series produced and acquired in Japan, including partnering with Post on delivery budgets, ensuring all required assets are complete and delivered according to schedule. 3. Lead negotiations on delivery schedules with outside studios, producers, and production companies to meet overall release goals, make independent decisions on lower risk trade-offs and escalate high impact decisions as appropriate. 4. Actively manage intake processes for assigned titles, assess complex issues, mitigate risk, and drive resolution — serving as an escalation point for operational challenges across the Japan content pipeline. 5. Establish and maintain regular operational connection points between the Japan-based team and Global Studio Content Services in LA — including recurring status reporting, cross-timezone syncs, and intake/launch readiness checkpoints — to ensure continuous alignment and visibility across teams. 6. Drive best practices with external vendor relationships to deliver content on time and within budget,
