Job Description Job Summary: The Undergraduate Program Administrator works in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies, and other academic members of the advising team for Archaeology and Social Anthropology. The Undergraduate Program Administrator also serves as Catalog Coordinator for the Department of Anthropology. Job-Specific Responsibilities: Undergraduate Advising: The Undergraduate Program Administrator establishes and implements procedures for ensure smooth functioning of the undergraduate program, comprising between approximately 40-60 students. Advises current and prospective Anthropology concentrators on concentration requirements and other aspects of curricular planning. Participates in and represent Anthropology at college-wide events for undeclared students organized by the Office of Undergraduate Education. and the Advising Programs Office. Liaise with the Advising Programs Office and the Office of Undergraduate Education. Organize and promote undergraduate events for concentrators, interested students, and department members. Serves as an expert resource for faculty, students and the external community concerning information on the University curricular structure, the Anthropology concentrations (Archaeology and Social Anthropology), related concentrations, and all matters concerning advising. Maintains forms, student sites, and undergraduate section of the department website. Advises students on funding for term-time and summer research experiences. Serves as a liaison with Concentration Advisers about the progress of Anthropology concentrators. Supports ongoing assessment of the undergraduate program. Manages senior thesis deadlines, evaluations, and archiving and arranges for reading of honors theses. Coordinates and designs communications to concentrators including production of Undergraduate Program publications (hardcopy and web-based) and serve as listserv administrator. Develops and monitors the Undergraduate Office budget and manages the department's undergraduate student awards. Updates and monitors concentrator records, using electronic degree audit and maintaining student files. Apprises students of their progress in meeting concentration requirements, and compiles materials for degree meetings including calculating grade averages for honors candidates. Ensures that the Undergraduate Office is in compliance with University policies, including student privacy and grading, and ensures the integrity of undergraduate student academic data.
