Come work on the Amazon Prime Air Team! We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of Prime Air Drone electrical propulsion subsystem hardware & related test systems. In this role you will be working to mature and document designs, add and increase engineering rigor, help deploy new test systems and work with internal and external groups to support its fabrication. You will also be responsible for developing new test hardware and supporting ongoing development efforts. If this sounds like the role for you, come make history with us! Export Control License This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf. Key job responsibilities Mechanical design and layout trades contributing to overall system architecture configuration selection, requiring knowledge and experience in understanding, collaborating and trading complex inputs from multiple other disciplines – Electrical, RF, Thermal, Dynamics, Mechanisms, Materials, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test. Generate detailed designs with 3D CAD assemblies/components and 2D drawings as deliverables. Conduct static, dynamic, and modal structural analysis as needed to support design work. Deliver efficient designs capable of high volume production throughput (DFM, DFA). Documentation and presentation of materials for technical design reviews. Design and support test campaigns, both development and qualification/acceptance, for drone hardware.
