About this role
Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a smart, experienced, and highly motivated litigator to help manage its worldwide portfolio of government enforcement, litigation, and regulatory matters, and advise the company on a wide variety of legal and business risk management issues. Key job responsibilities Responsibilities include handling and supervising a wide range of government disputes and regulatory engagements across all of Amazon’s businesses; directly interacting with government officials, including local, state, and federal regulators and law enforcement; directing overall case and matter strategy; selecting and managing outside counsel; assessing risk and coordinating with senior leadership on risk management; counseling internal stakeholders on a broad spectrum of complex and often novel legal and policy issues; managing all stages of both affirmative and defensive litigation, including discovery; working with supervisor to set short and long-term priorities and strategy for team's work; working to identify and implement process improvements; developing the skills of more junior team members; participate .
