The Role CenturyLink Investment Management (CIM) serves as the investment fiduciary for Lumen Technologies’ employee benefit assets, overseeing approximately $12 billion across pension and 401(k) trusts. We are seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to help shape investment strategy, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and investment manager selection for Lumen’s retirement plans. This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career investment professional to gain broad exposure across public and private markets while contributing to a lean, collaborative investment team. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with intellectual curiosity and a passion for financial markets, portfolio construction, and long-term investing. Work Location The Investment Management Team is Denver-based with a strong preference for a candidate located in the Denver metro area; however, highly-qualified remote candidates located in the U.S. will be considered. The Main Responsibilities Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to generate market insights and support investment decision-making Analyze a broad range of investment strategies and asset classes to inform portfolio construction and asset allocation decisions Assist in the development and maintenance of capital market assumptions, portfolio analytics, and optimization models Evaluate portfolio positioning, performance attribution, risk exposures, and investment outcomes across strategies Participate in investment discussions by providing thoughtful analysis, challenging assumptions, and contributing new ideas Research trends, innovations, and best practices in defined contribution investing, retirement solutions, and institutional asset management Support due diligence and monitoring of external investment managers across public and private markets Leverage technology, data analytics, and artificial intelligence tools to enhance research processes and investment insights What We Look For in a Candidate Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field 3 to 10 years of experience in institutional investing, asset management, investment consulting, or a related field Strong foundation in investment, finance, economic, and capital market concepts Demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly Commitment to fiduciary responsibility, consistently acting with care, loyalty, and prudence in the best interests of plan participants Proficiency with Excel and investment research platforms such as Bloomberg, Morningstar, eVestment, or similar tools Strong attention to detail and ability to balance detailed analysis with portfolio-level thinking Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development Curiosity about financial markets and a passion for investing Interest in leveraging emerging technologies, including AI, to improve investment research and decision-making Preferred CFA designation or active progress toward earning the CFA charter Experience supporting asset allocation,
