Position
Overview The Asia Government Affairs position will drive Qualcomm's government engagement, policy advocacy, and ecosystem development strategy across key Southeast Asian markets. This individual will work at the intersection of public policy, technology adoption, and ecosystem development to advance Qualcomm's strategic priorities in AI, edge computing, data centers, PCs, 6G connectivity, and semiconductor innovation. The role requires a highly proactive leader capable of shaping emerging policy frameworks, building trusted relationships with government stakeholders, enabling ecosystem growth, and influencing public sector technology adoption. 15+ years in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, diplomacy, or a related field Deep APAC experience across multiple major markets Strong understanding of technology policy, AI, semiconductors, connectivity, digital economy, and trade issues Experience engaging ministers, regulators, and senior policymakers Leadership Capabilities Ability to set regional strategy while empowering country leads Strong executive presence with C-suite leaders Experience managing geographically distributed teams Proven ability to align HQ priorities with local market realities Ability to translate policy developments into business opportunities and risks Key Responsibilities Policy Strategy & Advocacy Proactively identify, monitor, and engage in emerging policy, regulatory, and technology frameworks impacting Qualcomm's business interests across Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. Engage with ministries, regulators, digital economy agencies, industry associations, and policymakers to shape policy discussions at an early stage. Advocate for technology-neutral, innovation-friendly policies related to: Artificial Intelligence and Cloud to Edge Computing Semiconductors Data Centers Digital Infrastructure Advanced Connectivity and Wireless Technologies Develop policy positions, consultation responses, white papers, and government engagement strategies. Advance government understanding of Qualcomm technologies and solutions through structured engagement programs.
Position
Qualcomm as a trusted advisor on emerging technology trends and implementation opportunities. Collaborate with business units, engineering teams, and industry partners. Work closely with commercial and business development teams to support public sector opportunities. Identify public sector funding, incentives, and national programs that could accelerate ecosystem adoption. Support executive-level government engagements, strategic visits, and high-level stakeholder meetings. Prepare briefing materials, talking points, policy analysis, and stakeholder intelligence reports. Coordinate engagements involving senior Qualcomm leadership with key government officials and strategic partners.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Government, International Relations, Law, Economics, Engineering, or related field. 15+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, public sector business development, regulatory affairs, or a related field. Demonstrated experience engaging with senior government officials and regulatory agencies across Southeast Asia. Strong understanding of technology policy and digital economy issues. Proven ability to influence policy outcomes and build external coalitions. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills. Ability to operate effectively across cultures and multiple Southeast Asian markets. Preferred Experience in the AI, cloud, computing, semiconductor, telecommunications, or technology sectors. Established network within government ministries, digital agencies, industry associations, and technology ecosystems across Asia. Experience supporting public-sector technology
