We are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Galleys team in Leighton Buzzard to be responsible for research and development, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. The A350 Galleys Program designs and produces world class Galleys structures for the A350 Aircraft. Officially headquartered in the UK with manufacturing in the Philippines the A350 Galley Program continues to be the premier solution for Airbus and supplying most of the galleys on all models of the A350 aircraft. Note – This role is based in Leighton Buzzard, UK however travel may be required to support the business or the customer. Currently, our standard workweek allows us the flexibility to work remotely Monday and Friday . However, as leaders who value accountability, our engineers work on-site as required to support their team, the project or the customer.
What you will do
The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional contributor. They may manage small projects or processes and should have advanced knowledge of work area. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. Work autonomously with limited oversight from the line manager. Coach and review and support work from a cross functional team of professionals. Produce products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means. Analyse and evaluate new or improved electronic components. Become technical interfaces for all internal and external stakeholders. Develop customer relationships based on transparency and trust. Author, check and approve technical documentation in accordance their delegation of authority. Monitor, report and act upon key performance & leading indicators to help achieve predicable outcomes. Experience & Qualifications we prefer: The successful candidate will have a “Leader” mentality, keen to drive improvements and provide input. Ideally have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing experience is essential. Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable. Familiar with Wiring diagrams, wiring list, CAD (Catia, NX preferred) and PLM systems (Teamcentre Preferred) Experience must ideally include power generation, transmission and distribution, illumination, wire communication systems, circuit theory, computer design and development. Electrical Certifications knowledge – DO-160, DO-178 & DO-254 is highly desirable. Able demonstrate they are an excellent communicator with the ability achieve the right outcome through dialogue with a range of stakeholders (local and global colleagues, executives, customers, technical and non-technical). A STEM degree is highly desirable.
