What Makes This Role Great: You will build a versatile foundation in software engineering and technology operations by rotating through four distinct technical domains, including AI/Machine Learning, DevOps, Systems Engineering, and UX/UI Design. This program provides executive visibility, hands-on exposure to cutting-edge tools, and a structured post-program placement pathway tailored to your professional goals. Key Exciting Responsibilities Rotate through four six-month assignments across critical engineering tracks such as test, firmware, AI/machine learning, systems software, and product management. Design, build, and deploy innovative software applications while contributing directly to production codebases and real-world projects. Explore and implement emerging technologies, including AI-powered developer tools, to optimize workflows, improve code quality, and automate repetitive tasks. Partner with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges, refine user experiences, and advance strategic product goals. Essential Skills & Experience  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Up to three years of relevant experience or a minimum of one prior technical internship.  Strong programming ability in C++ or C#, complemented by scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, Bash, Shell, Ruby, or Perl. Critical thinking and self-motivation with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Full legal entitlement to work in New Zealand. Bonus Points For Domain experience in computer vision, photogrammetry, 3D modeling, artificial intelligence, signal processing, image recognition, or GNSS. Familiarity with the Agile software development lifecycle and AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT. Recent leadership experience in university projects or community organizations.
