What you'll do
Responsibilities:- The role requires maintaining active engagement with the Digital Transformation and GRRO to ensure that project requirements are properly defined and timelines are met. Additional responsibilities include providing ongoing support and training to GRRO and other teams regarding policy and process changes and communicating to all stakeholders including SOX team, internal and external auditors. The individual is expected: To be a subject matter expert in revenue recognition processes including deal review and allocation Possesses strong US GAAP technical accounting and compliance knowledge, including ASC 606 and ASC 842. Ability to clearly communicate requirements and controls; define and document processes. To ensure compliance with leasing, software, and service revenue recognition rules. To solve ad-hoc business and process issues related to complex revenue recognition models. Research and Interpret U.S. GAAP accounting standards to assess any potential system or process issues related to the accounting and financial reporting treatment for new, material, and/or complex, unusual transactions or agreements. To coordinate the EFR reviews of new business proposals & product launches Ensure new processes and/or automation result in revenue recognition in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting policies. Success in this area depends upon a unique combination of a strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting requirements, SOX control processes, strong project management skills, and an understanding of HPE's business operations. The role requires engagement with order management, pricing, Business Finance, Financial Processes/System Architecture and the Digital Transformation team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for obtaining a broad overview of HPE and extending your US GAAP knowledge in multiple areas. What you need to bring:
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting, finance, business; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA or equivalent, MBA) preferred. 10+ years of experience in an accounting/finance function. Big four public accounting experience is a plus. Project management experience. Business and compliance experience. Experience with technology industry and international companies preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Possesses strong US GAAP technical accounting and compliance knowledge, including ASC 606. Experience in application of complex technical accounting guidance to process design for complex business models and deal structures. Ability to partner with
