The role
What will you be doing? ○ Lead financial planning, forecasting and analysis activities, helping to shape and deliver Unum's financial plans while supporting strategic business decision making. ○ Play a key role in the annual planning cycle and ongoing forecasting process, providing insightful analysis and ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on time for both UK and US stakeholders. ○ Support the production of monthly management information, including the Monthly Performance Review (MPR), helping senior leaders understand business performance and key financial trends. ○ Deliver high-quality financial analysis and recommendations that support senior executive decision making on a wide range of business priorities and opportunities. ○ Develop and enhance reporting, forecasting and modelling tools that improve efficiency, accuracy and the quality of financial insights provided to the business. ○ Build and maintain expertise in Unum's financial planning systems, including tools such as Anaplan, helping drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes. ○ Partner with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to understand performance drivers, challenge assumptions and support informed decision making. ○ Translate complex financial data into clear, meaningful insights and presentations for senior stakeholders. ○ Build strong working relationships across the organisation, developing a deep understanding of business performance and the factors influencing financial results. ○ Contribute to a strong governance and control environment, ensuring compliance with Information Security requirements, Consumer Duty, Treating Customers Fairly, Conduct Risk and Solvency II obligations. What will you bring? ○ Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA CGMA) or equivalent finance and accounting experience. ○ Experience within FP&A or a similar analytical finance role, ideally within a large or complex business environment. ○ Strong understanding of financial performance drivers and the interaction between profit and loss, balance sheet and business performance metrics. ○ Experience supporting business planning, forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis processes. ○ Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create insightful reports, models and presentations for senior audiences. ○ Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with an ability to interpret complex information and provide meaningful recommendations. ○ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting financial information to senior Finance and business leaders. ○ Ability to manage multiple priorities, work at pace and consistently deliver high-quality output to tight deadlines. ○ Strong attention to detail combined with a continuous improvement mindset and interest in enhancing financial reporting tools and processes. ○ Experience working in collaborative, high-performing teams within a professional business environment. Location Hybrid working. 3 days in office, 2 days from home. From office locations in Dorking, London or Basingstoke.
