Job Description • Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements. • Maintains current knowledge of specific government agency requirements. • Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty. • Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. • Develops, implements and maintains safety and health programs, systems and procedures. Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases in the work area. • Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace. • Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards. • Develops and conducts employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs. • Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice. • May act as a lead role for a team of ES&H specialists and/or support personnel. • May administer an ES&H program on a small or medium-sized project. Qualifications Minimum 18 years of progressive professional experience in environmental, safety, and health management or related disciplines Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field Current certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental, safety, and health regulatory compliance Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety and health programs Strong technical knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies Proficiency in accident investigation methodologies and root cause analysis Excellent written and verbal communication skills for regulatory interpretation and technical reporting Advanced degree (Master's) in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, or Engineering Additional professional certifications (e.g., Certified Hazard Control Manager, Certified Environmental Professional) Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of environmental, safety, and health specialists Experience administering ES&H programs on medium to large-scale projects Knowledge of emergency preparedness planning and implementation Additional Information At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
