Job Title: 2027 Commercial Summer Intern - Houston, TX Location: Houston, TX Duration: 10 weeks Start Date: June 1, 2027 Commercial Summer Internship Program The Commercial Summer Internship Program is designed to give interns a look at Citizens Bank’s culture and exposure into one of the many commercial banking business lines through project-based assignments, learning curriculum, networking, volunteer opportunities and formal mentorship. Responsibilities will vary based on the group you’re assigned to and will leverage your unique skills and abilities. At the conclusion of the program, high-performing interns will receive early consideration for full-time opportunities within the line of business in which they completed their summer internship. As a member of the Oil & Gas vertical with the Corporate Banking portfolio management team, Summer Analysts will support a team of Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers to understand and apply credit policy and field questions related to financial analysis and interpreting financial statements.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct written summaries of related industry and market environments, preliminary customer/prospect analysis including Sponsor analysis, and Borrower’s operating history and repayment capacity. Identify situations that may require policy exceptions and make recommendations that mitigate credit risks or remedy possible exceptions. Communicate internally on financial analysis or account management issues. Interact directly with Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers and to answer questions related to financial reporting requirements and interpreting financial statements. Participate in the underwriting process and conduct accurate, well organized analysis of various commercial borrowers including financial statement and projection analysis along with preparing profitability, risk and facility rating models.
Qualifications

Current students enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program, graduating between Winter 2027 – Spring 2028 OR current students enrolled in a graduate program, graduating between Winter 2027 – Spring 2028 Minimum GPA of 3.2; Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.5. Please include your cumulative GPA on your resume. Relevant work experience, leadership experience or coursework in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred but all majors will be considered. Strong analytical skills and software skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency is required. Candidates must currently be a U.S. Resident to be eligible for this program. Please note that U.S. Immigration sponsorship or work visa is not available for intern / full time Analyst positions and candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S
