Job Description

Summary The On Wing Support Shanghai Powerplant Engineer will be responsible for the technical standard by which we achieve conforming repairs of our customers’ fleets. This site performs maintenance on GE/CFM commercial aircraft engines in the field and in shop. As such, the Engineer will interpret the aircraft maintenance manual, engine shop manual, customer requests, and other approved technical data into actions or an actionable digital format (SAP) that can be completed locally and within the bounds of the quality system. This is achieved through workscoping; router management; process standardization; SB applicability and configuration decision-making by engine serial number; tooling, facility, and workstation setup; and escalations (Departure Records and DICAs) to PSE. Positive working relationships with the team of technicians and customers through outstanding customer responsiveness is critical to the success of the business. Role

Overview The OWS Shanghai Engineering leader will be responsible for leading a high-performance engineering team and the engineering benchmark associated with the manufacturing (disassembly, repair, and assembly) process and the industrialization and eventual standardization of the shop’s repair processes including workscope and workstation preparedness. The Ideal Candidate GE On Wing Support is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation.  Applicants must be willing and able to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise. In addition, the On Wing Support Shanghai Engineering leader will: • Provide technical leadership to shop operations, Quality Control, etc. regarding: workscope and evaluation for engines and/or components; service bulletins; modifications; configuration; new repair techniques for engines assigned.  Establish tollgates to ensure compliance.  • Be responsible for shop’s integration and execution of Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, Special Procedures, and regular and unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure Regulatory, Customer, and OEM requirements have been satisfied.  • Receive engine-specific workscopes, special work orders, repair order, etc. from CTP, product engineering and / or customers, evaluate, and translate into enterprise tool. Convert incoming records for workscope applicability and configuration management. • Develop, in detail, methods procedures that include tooling, adapters, special equipment requirements and their application, processing techniques to repair, and ultimately the step sequence methodology in which tasks should be completed in accordance with approved data.  Identify special check procedures plus additional information as required.  Work on a global team to create, regularly review, and improve these
