Who You'll Work With
As an Arista Hardware Engineering Senior Director, you will lead multiple cross-functional teams in the design and verification of an industry-leading portfolio of Networking Ethernet switches.
What You’ll Do We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and team-oriented Hardware Engineering Senior Director to drive the creation of industry-leading Cloud Networking Ethernet switches. Arista takes pride in designing and manufacturing the highest-density, highest-bandwidth products on the market. Scale and grow our Sydney hardware organization Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of hardware, firmware, signal integrity, diags, and FPGA engineers with a diverse range of experience levels, from new college grads to experienced industry veterans. Identify, define, and implement new processes and tools that help improve productivity and efficiency within the Hardware team Establish Sydney hardware labs to expand local development and test capabilities, including site requirements, site reviews, equipment and power planning, and site negotiations. Collaborate with SW and Central Engineering Directors to expand local teams outside of Hardware. Provide technical guidance and direction to hardware engineers to resolve complex Hardware bring-up and cross-functional problems Work with product management teams to translate high-level product direction into future system designs with detailed, executable steps for cross-functional teams. Drive Vendor roadmaps of key components (ASICs, connectors, PCB vendors, etc.) to advance Arista’s Hardware designs, as well as align with internal product roadmaps Communicate project status and changes to mitigate unexpected issues. Participate in schematic and board design reviews Develop and communicate priorities across a portfolio of projects. Drive the design of high-quality products with high first-pass yields at manufacturing. Ensure the prototype manufacturing infrastructure and capacity meet product portfolio needs. Act as the initial point of contact for customer escalations, and supervise resolution Engage with customers on product definition and critical escalations as required Qualifications BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics 4+ years of Management experience, and 10+ years of relevant experience in networking or systems hardware design, particularly in the Enterprise market Proven experience leading hardware engineering teams across multiple simultaneous projects. Prior technical management experience is a must Proficient with high layer count printed circuit boards and high-speed design, with background experience or knowledge of key protocols such as: Ethernet, SMBus, SPI, PCIe, POE, PTP, MDIO Expertise in Designing For
