As a Credit Risk Officer (Vice President) in the Hedge Funds & Asset Managers Credit team, you will be the primary credit coverage for a portfolio of APAC hedge funds and asset managers. You will assess and manage counterparty credit exposure across traded products, applying rigorous onboarding due diligence, continuous monitoring, and timely escalation of material risks. You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across risk, the business, and legal to structure transactions and set appropriate credit appetite, limits, and mitigants. You’ll bring a forward-looking perspective on market and regulatory developments and translate that into practical risk actions. You’ll help uphold consistent credit standards while contributing to process and control improvements.

Job responsibilities

Own primary credit coverage for a portfolio of Asia-Pacific hedge funds and asset managers, including internal ratings, credit appetite, ongoing monitoring, and timely escalation of material risk issues Lead client due diligence meetings (virtual and in person), building credibility through clear communication, active listening, and well-framed questions Structure and drive transaction approval processes end-to-end, assessing trading activity, margin requirements, structural mitigants, and key legal documentation terms Evaluate exposure and risk analytics (for example, Value at Risk, stress loss, mark-to-market, sensitivities, and scenario analysis), explaining strengths and limitations to support sound credit decisions Deliver clear, timely, and well-supported risk recommendations that balance business priorities with independent credit judgment and strong risk discipline Translate market, regulatory, and industry developments into actionable portfolio insights, themes, and risk management actions Partner constructively with stakeholders across risk, the business, and legal—aligning on priorities, challenging appropriately, and enabling high-quality execution Collaborate with global credit counterparts to align standards, risk views, and portfolio themes, supporting a consistent coverage model Identify gaps in tools, processes, controls, or policy application, and drive practical improvements that strengthen execution quality and risk management Coach junior team members by providing feedback, challenging their recommendations, and sharing guidance that improves judgment, ownership, and development Contribute to an inclusive, respectful team culture by escalating concerns early, sharing lessons learned, and supporting continuous improvement Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in credit risk, counterparty risk or a closely related risk management role within financial services. Strong understanding of counterparty credit risk, including how it arises across traded products and how it can be mitigated through limits, margin, collateral, structure and documentation. Ability to assess risk measures such as VaR, stress loss, mark-to-market, sensitivities and scenario analysis, including their strengths, limitations and practical use in credit decisions. Knowledge of financial markets, macro and micro drivers, and the risk profiles of Hedge Funds, Asset Managers or Financial Institutions. Strong knowledge of prime brokerage, OTC & listed derivatives, securities financing, fund financing, margining, collateral and legal documentation concepts relevant to fund clients.
