The Opportunity

This position works out of our Irvine, CA location for our Electrophysiology business.  In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. What You’ll Work On Oversee facilities planning activities for company. Through intermediate managers, direct space allocations, moves, and facilities construction, modification and maintenance. Implements facilities policies and practices. Hire, train, develop, and motivate facilities staff and contractors. Review and approve facilities related contracts and vendor qualifications. Prioritize and monitor facilities related capital and expense budgets, worked on and track maintenance documentation for actions. Support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Sets goals which align to department plans and manages the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring. Maintains a safe and professional work environment. Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years maintenance and facilities experience Associates degree required OR equivalent experience, bachelors' preferred Supervisory experience preferred. FDA Regulated Facility and/or cleanroom manufacturing experience preferred. Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
