Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Warehouse Job Description Material Handler II St. Louis, MO | On-site | Supply Chain / Warehouse Operations How You Will Make an Impact As Material Handler II, you will independently execute day-to-day warehouse activities that support safe, compliant, and on-time material flow for Thermo Fisher Scientific's St. Louis operations. You will process receipts, put-away, replenishment, picking, and shipment activities with minimal supervision, maintain accurate system transactions and documentation, and help sustain inventory accuracy, production support, and customer delivery performance.
What You Will Do
Independently perform receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, staging, and shipping tasks across multiple warehouse areas. Process receipts, material moves, picks, and ship confirmations in RF/WMS systems with strong attention to detail. Operate forklifts, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks, and other certified equipment safely and efficiently. Stage and load outbound shipments; prepare basic documentation and use carrier portals or parcel systems as required . Support kitting and line-side replenishment to meet production schedules and point-of-use requirements. Perform cycle counts, location audits, and routine discrepancy resolution to support inventory accuracy. Review labels, quantities, lot information, and shipping/receiving documents for completeness and compliance. Escalate damaged materials, system issues, equipment concerns, and unresolved discrepancies to the Lead or Supervisor. Help train new team members by modeling safe work practices and standard procedures. Participate in 5S, continuous improvement, and cross-training activities to improve throughput and service. How You Will Get Here Education High school diploma or GED required . Equipment certifications (forklift, reach truck, electric pallet jack, or similar) required or obtained shortly after hire . Additional warehouse, logistics , or shipping training preferred.
Experience
1-3 years of warehouse or distribution experience with proficiency in core material handling processes. Experience working across receiving, inventory, production support, and/or shipping functions. Experience in a regulated, manufacturing, or cGMP environment preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Proficient RF/WMS transactions for receipts, moves, picks, replenishments, and shipment confirmation. Safe and efficient operation of powered industrial trucks and other required equipment. Basic knowledge of shipping systems, carrier portals, and parcel processing. Understanding of cycle counts, location accuracy, and routine exception resolution. Basic Excel/Microsoft Office and strong written/verbal communication skills. Demonstrates informal leadership, accountability, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
Mobility between warehouse, dock, and production areas, including occasional exposure to outdoor elements when moving between buildings. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular basis and move heavier materials using approved equipment or team-lift practices. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and operate required material handling equipment safely.
