Work with the Xcel Energy Corporate Marketing & Communications team to support projects such as internal and external messaging, digital content, social media, journalistic writing, visual design, branding and other department needs. We have team members at 401 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis and T3 (3500 Blake Street) in Denver, and are seeking one intern for each location. Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Depending on the intern's background and career interests, responsibilities may include: Gain a broad look at the marketing and communications needs of a major corporation. Build foundational career experience by writing, coordinating projects, publishing digital content, creating digital signage and assisting in the planning and execution of special events. Participate in various initiatives across the department, such as social media coordination, analyzing data and reporting on campaign outcomes, supporting marketing communications projects, public relations efforts and more. Connect by conducting informational interviews and job shadows to understand how your work intersects and supports other areas of Xcel Energy. This position is for a May 24, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.
Minimum Requirements
Current student, Sophomore or higher Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Strategic Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Media Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Teams and SharePoint. Interest in leveraging and/or growing AI skillset.
