Agency: Adelphi Job Function: Production Job Subfunction: Production Operations Job Description: Fieldwork Manager Responsibilities: Project Management Take full ownership of fieldwork project management for complex, high-risk or strategically important projects, ensuring effective delivery from set-up through to close-out. Act as an active member of the wider project team, applying operational expertise and providing informed advice beyond the immediate confines of the Project Management role. Serve as a senior escalation point for project issues, facilitating timely resolution and communicating risks, recommendations and decisions clearly to relevant stakeholders. Project Budget Management Provide final fieldwork costs for input to the Budget Definition Form Input and update budget details on accounting systems (MIS). Monitor fieldwork spend on projects and highlight any over expenditure to project leader Check & approve supplier invoices and record to projects/cost centres Monitor the financial status of projects using dedicated systems (MIS) Supplier Management Lead preferred supplier reviews, drawing on project feedback and performance data to assess quality, responsiveness, capability and value. Recommend and support strategies to improve supplier quality, responsiveness and consistency of delivery. Take functional ownership of key external resource relationships, including freelancer engagement and the continued development of the wider supplier network. Operational Processes Ensure that defined processes are followed and relevant practical records, which document the progress of the project, are kept fully up to date Project Knowledge/Understanding Understand the project lifecycle and own role at each stage Understand the requirements of different project methodologies and their impact on operational requirements Understand the basic principles of coding, data processing, analysis and interpretation Actively contribute to process improvements and the positive reputation of the Operations team. Champion continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing opportunities to strengthen Project Management quality, efficiency and responsiveness across the wider team. Team & Functional Leadership Provide day-to-day management and guidance to the Project Management team, role modelling high standards of ownership, collaboration and delivery. Oversee the allocation of projects across the Project Management team, balancing capability, capacity, continuity and development needs. Lead the implementation and consistent adoption of Project Management initiatives, tools and processes across the wider team. Identify and drive new opportunities for improvement and development, both internally and through external partners.
