What We're Looking For
The Financial Analyst I supports the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function by actively working on the analysis, preparation, investigation, and resolution of monthly financial results and variances. The role serves as a key analytical resource, providing financial insights, standard and ad-hoc reporting, and business partnering support to assist management in financial decision-making, forecasting, and budget management Responsibilities: P&L & Variance Analysis: Works directly on Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting, identifying key variances against budgets, prior forecasts, and historical trends. Budgeting & Rolling Forecasts: Collaborates with senior team members and business partners in the preparation, consolidation, and submission of annual budgets and quarterly rolling forecasts. Management Reporting: Supports the creation, maintenance, and distribution of monthly and quarterly management reports, providing relevant financial commentary and narrative explanations. Business Partnering: Serves as an introductory Finance contact/liaison to assigned operational or business functions. Ad-Hoc Projects: Develops customized financial analysis and reporting models to support strategic ad-hoc business projects. Financial Accuracy & Reconciliation: Investigates data discrepancies across ERP and financial reporting tools to ensure data integrity Requirements: Advanced Excel & Data Handling: High proficiency with Microsoft Excel (lookup functions, ERP & Financial Systems: Experience or working familiarity with computerized accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Hyperion, Essbase) Financial Analysis & Reporting: Understanding of P&L reporting, variance analysis, account reconciliations, and budgeting/forecasting processes Accounting Principles: foundation in core accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP or local statutory requirements) and financial statement analysis High Degree of Accuracy: attention to detail and data integrity in preparing and reviewing financial schedules Deadline Management: Proven ability to work under tight timelines, particularly during monthly/quarterly closing cycles and forecast submissions Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate variances, identify discrepancies, and draw meaningful business conclusions from large data sets Communication & Business Partnering: Clear oral and written communication skills to deliver financial commentaries and liaise effectively with cross-functional stakeholders Benefits: 5 weeks of vacation, 5 sick days and 4 volunteer days paid off.
