Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer, Thailand We're looking for a Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer to join our team in Thailand. This role provides in-country legal support while helping strengthen the business's regulatory and risk management capabilities locally. This person will serve as the main contact for these matters in Thailand, working closely with local business stakeholders and the regional team. This role suits a qualified Thai lawyer with advisory, compliance, and regulatory experience. What the day will look like Legal Advisory and Contract Support Draft, review, and negotiate contracts in Thai and English with clients, insurers, vendors, and other partners, covering commercial agreements, real estate deals, referral arrangements, and client RFPs. Guide new business initiatives and employment issues, help lead disputes and complaints, and assist with corporate governance, company secretarial requirements, and regulatory filings. Compliance and Financial Crime Support Act as the Thailand compliance contact, helping roll out global and regional policies locally while reviewing third-party risk issues and advising business teams on conduct, financial crime, and AML/CTF requirements. Oversee conflict of interest, gifts, and entertainment reviews, and bring local regulatory insight to compliance reviews while embedding conduct and data privacy standards into daily operations. Regulatory and Stakeholder Engagement Monitor Thai legal and regulatory developments and their impact on the business, and maintain engagement with Thai regulators, authorities, and external counsel. Translate global and regional policies into practical, Thailand-specific mentorship, deliver training on regulatory and governance topics, and assist with internal and external audits. Skills and experience
Qualified Thai lawyer with approximately 7 to 10+ years of post-qualification experience in legal and compliance roles, ideally within financial services, insurance, or broking, with a solid grasp of Thailand's legal and regulatory frameworks. Skilled at drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts in both Thai and English. Familiarity with compliance and financial crime frameworks, including third-party risk, AML/CTF, and conduct requirements, and experience operating as a generalist across a broad range of areas. Good judgement, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and partner with local and regional teams. #LI-PC1 2584161
