This position will provide the Intern with engineering experience as it relates to substation design and system protection .       The Substation Engineering Interns will work as a team along with staff engineers to facilitate substation engineering analysis and design work related to system protection and substation infrastructure . The substation engineering department is tasked with the design of substation facilities and relay protection of all equipment on AES Indiana transmission and distribution systems . Substation Interns will be assigned project work designed to offer valuable engineering experience , and to assist staff engineers with their substation projects .

A student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Technology . An academic standing of Sophomore status or higher is preferred . Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a strong academic background , exceptional attention to detail , and organization and presentation skills . A proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs - especially Excel and Word - also is preferred.   The Intern may be expected to complete additional assignments as determined by their supervisor.
