Job Description
As a New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing Manager, you will be a strategic leader in technical sourcing and supplier relationship management for HPE Networking’s most innovative products. You will drive cross-functional collaboration, ensure supply chain resilience, and champion operational excellence to deliver HPE Networking’s four Strategic Pillars Products. As we look to deliver new technology to help our customers, we have embedded a strategic sourcing approach within Supplier Management and Procurement (SM&P) team. As a part of this, you'll be impacting the achievement of business objectives including technology and product improvements, and problem resolutions. Working with Engineering, Program Management and SM&P teams, you'll influence suppliers and are confident in negotiations ensuring quality and timely delivery. Taking ownership - supporting, leading, and handling the early engagement of key suppliers. Leading NPI project cost target, identifying and mitigating cost and schedule risks during development and ensuring a smooth transition towards volume manufacturing. Work closely with Global Commodity Managers (GCM) to align sourcing activities and objectives to the commodity strategies, and drive business leverage and early supplier engagement in new product development. US Citizenship required Hybrid Work: Must work in an HPE office 1 or 2 times a week. Work could be in Sunnyvale, San Jose or Roseville Primary work location: Sunnyvale, California with occasional travel to other HPE offices in San Jose and Roseville, California Travel: Possible international travel once a year. Candidate should have an active passport Key Responsibilities 1. Innovation Lead early supplier engagement and technical sourcing for new product programs, ensuring access to cutting-edge technologies and components. Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and HW Program Management to identify and qualify suppliers capable of supporting advanced product requirements. Drive continuous improvement and adoption of new sourcing strategies, tools, and digital platforms to accelerate time-to-market. 2. Customer Centricity Serve as the primary sourcing focal point in NPI core teams, ensuring supplier performance aligns with customer expectations for quality, responsiveness, and delivery. Proactively manage supplier relationships to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and ensure reliable supply for critical customer programs. Gather and act on feedback from internal and external stakeholders to improve sourcing processes and outcomes. 3. Operational Excellence Ensure supplier compliance with HPE metrics (Technology, Quality, Responsiveness, Delivery, Cost, Geo-diversification, BCP, Cybersecurity). Lead the Materials List Review (MLR) process and manage component-level cost and schedule impacts for assigned NPI programs. Drive accountability for on-time delivery through clear escalation paths and leadership engagement. 4.
