The team you will be a part of The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation. You will be a part of VPD ADI, Integrated Tech team. This position-Sr. CAE Specialist, is based in Pune and reports directly to the VPD ADI Team Lead. This role in summary Responsible and accountable for delivering the improvement of product and project structural robustness through drop and impact simulations Your responsibilities will include Master in LS-Dyna explicit and implicit analysis. New simulation capabilities development. Define product simulation strategy and requirements to drive timely virtual verification across project timelines. Hands on Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) using DES or ALE or SPH modeling. Expert in component/ subsystem/ system level simulations using LS-DYNA. Expert in 2D and 3D meshing of sheet metals, elastomer and plastics using Altair Hypermesh. Expert in understanding of design variations. Can convert physical/ field problems into simulation problems independently. Perform the structural simulations, analyze the results, prepare proper reports with appropriate conclusions and suggestions to improve the product performance. Good in result interpretation, may need help in design solutions. Independently handle challenging projects and deliver solutions to stakeholders. Can mentor other team members for critical problems. Coordinate with different functions and stakeholders for project discussions. Pro-active knowledge documentation and sharing. Correlation of FEA results with physical testing. Hands on experience on Six sigma tools and practices is preferred. Hands on experience on automation is preferred. Key Deliverables Patents/ Research/ External Presentations Rigor to publish/ present papers in technical forums. Technical rigor for patent filing, as having patents is desirable. Minimum requirements Education: M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical/ Automobile/ Aerospace Engineering.
Experience
6 to 9 years of relevant experience. Knowledge Management: Open to sharing knowledge and thoughts. Proactive knowledge documentation and sharing with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred skills and experiences TECHNICAL Knowledge of strength of materials, fracture mechanics, and impact dynamics. Knowledge of numerical techniques like Finite Element Method (FEM) and Finite Difference Method (FDM). Proficient understanding of material modeling and product testing. Proficiency in simulation tools like LS-Dyna, Hypermesh, and Ansys etc. Deep results
