As a Maintenance Mechanic I, you'll be at the center of what keeps our operation running safely and efficiently. From daily equipment checks to routine repairs and facility support, you'll help keep our teams moving and reduce downtime across the operation.

This is a hands-on role where you'll build experience with material handling equipment, facility systems, building structures, and power industrial truck battery maintenance. You'll work independently on routine tasks, partner with the team on assigned projects, and play an important part in making sure the work gets done.

What To Expect

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment, conveyor systems, powered industrial truck batteries, battery changers, facility sweepers, and related warehouse equipment. Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine whether adjustment or repair is needed. Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace, rebuild, assemble, and test equipment and mechanical parts to verify proper operation. Use shop tools such as grinders, drill presses, cutting torches, and welding equipment to repair or join metal parts. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following OSHA, state, local, and Macy’s Logistics Operations safety standards.

Keep warehouse operations moving by maintaining equipment reliability and reducing downtime. Support a safe working environment by following maintenance safe work practices and reporting issues to leadership quickly. Partner with team members, supervisors, and operations teams to complete repairs, preventive maintenance, and assigned projects. Skills That Matter

Must Have

High school diploma or equivalent.

1-2 years of commercial or industrial maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, understand, and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, employment policies, and procedural manuals in English.
