Job Description
Experienced Backend Engineer Location: Galway Ireland Type: Permanent Full time Summary We're looking for an Experienced Backend Engineer focused on delivering high-quality architecture, design, and robust code. In this role, you'll work with your team to tackle the hardest programming, performance, and reliability challenges, collaborating on design reviews and technical decisions. You'll leverage AI tools to streamline development and improve efficiency. Your contributions will have visible impact on our core product—improving time-to-market and satisfying current and future customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Development Design and develop cutting-edge system software products. Drive performance optimization and efficient memory management. Develop innovative solutions addressing challenges in virtualization, multithreading, and hardware–software interaction. Design and implement robust, scalable solutions for complex challenges. Proactively identify bottlenecks in system design and implement scalable solutions. Perform in-depth debugging, triaging, and resolution for a variety of issues. Collaboration & Innovation Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on design goals and ensure seamless integration with the system architecture. Explore and implement new methodologies fostering continuous improvement and innovation. Stay updated on evolving trends in virtualization technologies to bring innovative practices to the team. Exhibit flexibility in taking on new or related tasks, showcasing adaptability and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Knowledge and Skills In-depth working knowledge and hands-on backend experience. At least 5 years of expertise in C#. AI adopter with proven hands-on experience applying generative AI tools to streamline software development, improve engineering efficiency, and support a continuous-learning mindset. Strong knowledge of Linux and virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, and OpenShift. Deep expertise in software systems design, development methodologies, and integration across diverse platforms and technologies. Strong ability to innovate and bring fresh approaches to technical challenges. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset and sharp analytical abilities. Exceptional communication skills to effectively present and discuss technical designs, proposals, and solutions with senior management and stakeholders. Ability to work autonomously.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of backend experience.
