About this role
Director Business Planning & Operations Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Identify and support the strategic development, implementation and execution of new business models to drive Kids growth in China.
Own the end-to-end business planning and operations from sell-in to sell-out to inventory in an omni channel view.
Lead and drive business planning activities and support top management with better decision-making capabilities through proactive actions.
Responsible for providing the oversight, coordination and management of key work-streams with the respective team Leads and Sponsors, to facilitate the growth of the adidas GCA Kids business.
Key Responsibilities: Kids Business Planning
Facilitate the development Kids strategic business planning with the focus on building the brand and accelerating commercial success in the market
Ensure the Sell in, Sell out, PL is in alignment with the kids SBP as well as finance target
Translate the new strategy into clear roadmap(s) with focus on the business model/planning (in collaboration with GCA counterparts)
Support monthly rolling forecast, shipment, SWB, take back, cancellation tracking, and database maintenance etc.
Work with x-function team to run kids quarterly and monthly business review with action.
Market and business intelligence
Identify key markets and competitor trends and evaluate business opportunities. Ensure the implications are considered in planning and decision-making
Collate and maintain up to date the provision of relevant Business Intelligence (i.e. consumer data) and benchmarking - both internal and external – to support decision making and performance enhancement
Create and distribute regular reports to GCA senior leadership team
Key Relationships
Channels team, Product, Marketing, FP&A team, DP, Transformation office etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Self-motivated and solution-oriented
Strong business sense and ability to identify the business needs and opportunities
Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. stakeholder management, influencing, presentation)
Proven methodological and analytical skills (e.g. business planning, financial analyses, strategy development, project management)
Sufficient understanding of sporting goods/retail industry, consumers, accounts, economic environment and commercial needs in China
Strong English skills with fluent to Native in Mandarin
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
University degree or above (MBA or other business-related qualification preferred)
10-12 years of general business experience or experience in sales planning, strategic planning and management of complex mid to large size projects preferred
Leadership: 5+ years of leadership of experts, x-functional projects and people
Cross-functional experience, ideally with marketing / sales / supply chain management
Broad understanding of business value drivers and operations
Global mindset and ability to work cross-culturally; experience within different countries and/or different cultures
