Standard Job Description Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to serve as Program Risk and Opportunity (R&O) Manager. The R&O Manager will be responsible for working with the program staff to identify, track, manage, and ensure the integration of R&O initiatives and guidance within the Program. Specific responsibilities within the Program include the following: Serve as the primary representative responsible for managing and tracking identified risks, risk related issues, and opportunities Provide leadership and direction on the required approach to proactively identify, assess, monitor, and manage operational risks and develop strategies for effective mitigation, avoidance, transfer, or acceptance as appropriate. Manage the development and execution of a Risk and Opportunity Management Plan. Attend reviews to ensure risks and opportunities are appropriately documented, tracked, evaluated, and managed or mitigated. Coordinating and aligning R&O management effort with all Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and Finance and Program Management Processes. Ensuring that IMS adequately reflects R&O; mitigation/capture plans. Participating in program meetings to identify potential R&O items. Primary program representative facilitating and coordinating monthly risk board meetings (internal and with customer) with read-ahead material and meeting minutes. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience with 10+ years of professional experience. Strong communications skills with the ability to challenge the functional areas on operational risk as well as the ability to convey risk exposure and requirements. Demonstrated experience implementing risk methodologies and performing risk assessments including issue management and other related activities. Practical knowledge and experience pertaining to RI&O management. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organization capabilities. Proven ability to see open action items through to completion. Ability to multi-task and the ability to seek assistance/information as necessary. Strong interpersonal skills, including experience working in a team environment. Desired Skills Good communication skills. Demonstrated coordination skills. Experience working with RI&O databases and/or analysis tools.
