Engineer, Mold

Primary Purpose Summary This position is expected to lead mold development to ensure the mold quality, cost and lead time to be delivered with the demands from Project Manager.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities - Provide Technical Support for new product development based on project requirements including feasibility and cost assessment. - Draw up mode specifications for new molds, including mold structure, lifespan, gating solution, scrap weight, injection cycle-time, and development schedule ETC. - Lead both domestic and international technical teams and suppliers in the evaluation of DFM and Mold design, and other assessment of technical issues. - Regularly track and report on the machining process of the molds and inserts to ensure compliance with mold delivery schedules. - Lead internal teams in participating in mold trial runs both internal and external, support the implementation of scientific injection molding, sample quality evaluation, summarize mold-related issues, and push suppliers to implement improvement solutions and plans. - Manage mold modification information, update and archive records in the system timely, and ensure the complete mold data is transferred to the production department upon successful validation. - Manage mold suppliers to ensure timely delivery of mold and related mold documents, meeting quality plan. - Support the operation team in design changes or improvements for existing mass-production molds. - Provide technical support for mold upgrade projects led by the operations team. - Other tasks assigned by manager.    Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or above, major in mold tech or mechanical engineering related field. - At least 5+ years' work experience in injection mold industry. - Candidates with experience in mold design and project management are preferred.  - Familiarity with scientific molding technology and failure analysis, as well as knowledge of mold manufacturing processes, injection molding techniques, and quality control methods. - Leadership skills in collaboration with global cross functional team and key stakeholders. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Be familiar with MS office and Pro/E, UG, CAD software. - Good English in oral and written. - Be familiar with high cavitation, cosmetics, medical devices, precision pumps, and packaging molds.
