Plant Supervisor Night Shift

Manage all aspects of the daily operation of a ready mix concrete plant, including material production, equipment maintenance and plant personnel. Responsible for the overall safe and efficient production and/or delivery of ready mix concrete while maintaining a high degree of product quality and customer satisfaction at an assigned facility. Essential Functions • Batch concrete according to specification of tickets and load trucks • Coordinate with dispatch for efficient delivery of concrete • Oversee general appearance and security of grounds, buildings, equipment and machinery • Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on all plant equipment • Review driver’s daily vehicle reports and coordinate any repairs with Fleet Maintenance • Order raw materials and operating supplies • Maintain inventories and monitor plant operating costs; prepare daily reports • Participate in training, evaluation, progressive discipline and discharge of personnel • Conduct safety meetings and plant safety and/or environmental inspections • Responsible for ensuring environmental and safety policy compliance of all activities at the facility, including outside contractors, and to immediately take appropriate steps to correct conditions of non-compliance. • Conduct daily quality control sampling of aggregate properties; record results appropriately • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor • Complies with all and ensures compliance of all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies, procedures and requirements • Other responsibilities: • Operate front end loader to feed ready mix plant and move material • Drive ready mix concrete truck to deliver concrete or transport vehicles • Assist in maintenance and upkeep of yard, plant and office Critical Competencies • Customer Focus -Builds positive customer relationships and gains trust and respect, prioritizing their needs and using feedback to improve products and services. • Leadership Skills: Acts decisively and works together to accomplish objectives, vision, mission and values of Vulcan.
