Roles & Responsibilities: As the Senior SOLIDWORKS PDM Administrator, you will serve as the primary technical expert responsible for the administration, optimization, and strategic evolution of the SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional environment. You will partner with Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams to ensure efficient engineering data management and seamless integration with enterprise systems. PDM Administration & System Management Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional. Configure, maintain, and optimize PDM vaults, workflows, lifecycle states, data cards, variables, templates, serial numbers, dispatch scripts, and automation. Administer user accounts, security groups, permissions, and role-based access. Maintain vault performance, system reliability, backup and disaster recovery strategies, and overall system health. Monitor system utilization and recommend performance improvements. Engineering Data Governance Establish and maintain engineering data governance policies, standards, and best practices. Ensure document integrity, revision control, engineering change management (ECO), and release processes. Define and enforce CAD standards, naming conventions, metadata standards, and document control procedures. Protect company intellectual property through appropriate security and access controls. Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and applicable regulatory requirements. System Architecture & Integration Lead architecture planning and continuous improvement of the SOLIDWORKS PDM environment. Design, develop, and maintain integrations with enterprise systems including: SAP or Oracle ERP Agile PLM / Oracle Cloud PLM Active Directory Microsoft SQL Server Windows Server AWS infrastructure (where applicable) Coordinate server migrations, software upgrades, SQL maintenance, and infrastructure enhancements with IT teams. Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to the long-term PDM/PLM roadmap. Process Improvement & Automation Develop and standardize workflows supporting: New Product Development (NPD) Engineering Change Orders (ECO) Document Release Manufacturing Supplier Collaboration Drive automation initiatives to eliminate manual processes. Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity, operational efficiency, and data quality. Technical Leadership & Support Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for PDM-related issues. Diagnose and resolve complex application, infrastructure, database, and workflow issues. Collaborate with SOLIDWORKS VARs, software vendors, consultants, and IT support teams. Review Statements of Work (SOWs) for software implementations and upgrade projects. Lead system upgrades, migrations, validation testing, and enhancement initiatives. Develop user guides, training materials, and best-practice documentation. Deliver administrator and end-user training. Mentor engineers and designers on PDM utilization, CAD standards, and engineering documentation practices. Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support. Lead PDM-related projects from planning through implementation. Manage software licensing, maintenance agreements, and vendor relationships. Participate in budgeting, software evaluations, and capital planning activities.
