Software Development Engineer, Amazon International Seller Services

Overview: The Seller Compliance team builds critical services enabling Amazon's $100B+ EU marketplace growth by solving complex regulatory challenges. We own the Pay-on-Behalf platform that currently protects $34.5B GMS across 17 regulations, serving 279K sellers and generating $5.8MM in operating profit.

Design and implement key components of our next-gen compliance platform Work with Principal Engineers on architectural decisions Build scalable solutions handling millions of daily seller transactions Collaborate with cross-functional teams on compliance service integration Current Technical Challenges: Building real-time compliance fee calculation and charging systems Designing multi-tenant architecture supporting 50+ regulations Implementing automated compliance validation and reporting Scaling systems to handle 3x growth in next 2 years Tech Stack: Java/Python microservices AWS (DynamoDB, S3, SQS) Internal Amazon frameworks Distributed systems at scale Why this role matters: Direct impact on Amazon's EU marketplace growth Solving complex technical challenges at massive scale Working on greenfield projects with latest tech High visibility with senior leadership Basic Qualifications: Java/Python proficiency Distributed systems experience 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Key job responsibilities SDE job role About the team Synergy team
