Step into a front-office trading floor role where you’ll help serve institutional clients, contribute to market-making, and build deep product and market expertise. As a CEM Trading Associate within our trading desk, you will support institutional account coverage and contribute to making markets across the desk’s product set. You will help manage risk, liquidity, and exposure; support pre-trade analysis and trade processing; and ensure strong post-trade accuracy and controls. You will be aligned to a desk that primarily deals in fixed income and foreign exchange, requiring strong awareness of market drivers and an ability to communicate market developments clearly.
Job responsibilities
Support day-to-day institutional client requests and needs Contribute to market-making activities across the desk’s products Assist in managing risk, liquidity, and exposure Perform pre-trade analysis and evaluate market developments Track supply and demand dynamics and translate market moves into clear client-ready context Support inbound and outbound trade processing across the trade lifecycle Assist with profit and loss (P&L) reconciliation and independently resolve issues when appropriate Ensure relevant partners are kept informed of key developments Support risk management planning for larger or more complex trades Ensure post-trade entries are accurate and internal controls are followed Proactively share information, knowledge, and ideas that help others succeed Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills At least 3 years experience working in an investment bank and within a fast-paced trading floor environment Working knowledge of how trades are booked and the implications of improper trade booking on P&L Ability to calculate and reconcile P&L and explain key factors that impact it Ability to support (and, when needed, resolve) P&L reconciliation issues with limited guidance Understanding of fundamental and technical aspects of the product(s) traded and related support functions Proficiency with market and product terminology, including quantitative concepts (e.g., pricing, models) Understanding of transaction lifecycle costs and the direct costs of “doing business” Understanding of different types of risk and practical approaches to managing risk Strong understanding of market drivers and ability to explain and anticipate market movements Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor messages to different audiences Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience supporting a fixed income and/or foreign exchange desk Demonstrated comfort operating under competitive time pressure while staying focused on client needs Experience partnering across teams to coordinate timely delivery on client and desk priorities
