Position

Overview: The Benefits Manager is responsible for overseeing the administration, compliance, and strategic management of health & welfare benefit programs and leave of absence policies. This role ensures that all benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, and support employee well-being. The Benefits Manager collaborates closely with HR, payroll, legal, and external vendors to deliver best-in-class benefits experiences to employees, drive process improvements, and maintain regulatory compliance. Your Impact

As the Benefits Manager, you will shape and lead the administration of health & welfare plans (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, etc.) and leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, parental leave, etc.). You will serve as the primary point of contact for benefit inquiries, resolve complex cases, and partner with stakeholders to ensure smooth processes. Your expertise will enable continuous improvement, accurate reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will drive communication, education, and engagement initiatives to help employees maximize their benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field 7-10 years of progressive benefits administration and people management experience, with direct responsibility for health & welfare and leave of absence programs (10+ years strongly desired; 7 years minimum) Strong knowledge of benefits laws and regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, etc.) Experience with benefits administration systems and vendor management Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Professional certifications (CEBS, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred Keys to Success in this Role: Deep understanding of benefits compliance and best practices Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues Commitment to delivering exceptional employee experience Ability to communicate complex information clearly and empathetically Adaptability to changing regulations and organizational needs Current Freddie Mac employees please apply through the internal career site.
