Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility providing acute crisis stabilization services for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting since 2001. Our individualized treatment includes a structured, therapeutic environment, intensive physician involvement and oversight, and daily group and educational programs. We provide a caring and healthy environment that gives individuals a chance to make positive changes. We are currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a PRN Activity Therapist (CTRS required). An Activity Therapist role is to provide quality case management and psychotherapeutic services to Spring Mountain’s populations, to serve as a member of multi-disciplinary team supporting the hospital’s treatment program and philosophy and assure the deliverance of quality treatment to patients and their family members, and to provide social histories, case management and psycho-educational groups to age-specific populations. Plans, implements, and evaluates, activity therapy programs. Completes all activity therapy programming, assessment, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, to discharge planning, as assigned. They present good communication and observation skills as well as the ability to accurately process and document information. Job Duties/Responsibilities Plans and directs recreational activities, structured diversion, or outings with direction of Program Director and Activity Therapy Coordinator. Maintains Activity Therapy charting policy and procedures and own caseload. Responsible for planning and implementing activities outside the hospital setting that are treatment oriented. Responsible for implementing therapeutic recreation programs to assigned unit. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position. Qualifications
Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an Accredited University in Recreation Therapy Must be a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Art Therapist with certification or any recreation therapy specialty Must be certified in CPR/FA Minimum of one year experience working in a psychiatric facility preferred Ability to administer Activity Therapy assessment and interpret to write ITP’s Knowledge of treatment programs, leisure education, social skill development, arts, and sports, needed. Ability to modify activity according to patient participation and/or disability. Experience with age-specific inpatient setting preferred Experience in taking psychosocial history and case management
