The Director of Project Delivery New Generation is accountable for mid- to late-stage execution of APS's generation capital program. Receives projects from Project Development and manages execution through EPC procurement, contractor management, construction, commissioning and formal handoff to Generation Operations at substantial completion. Manages a portfolio that may include utility-scale solar and storage, battery energy storage systems, gas-fired simple and combined cycle power plants and other generation technologies. Operates within APS's large capital project governance framework, including defined decision rights, stage-gate authorities, escalation protocols and cross-functional accountability standards. Also provides input to improve governance processes. Minimum Requirements

A four-year Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Project Management from an accredited college or university Plus 12 years of progressive experience in large capital project delivery (EPC or EPCM), of which at least five years include direct supervisory responsibility at a program or portfolio level. In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and/or directly related experience totaling 16 years. Demonstrated experience managing EPC or EPCM contracts with individual project values exceeding $100M. Proven track record delivering utility-scale generation or large industrial facilities from Notice-to-Proceed through commercial operation.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license. Licensed General Contractor (AZ ROC or equivalent). Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Risk Management Professional (RMP) or demonstrated experience applying probabilistic risk methods (P50/P80, Monte Carlo) to cost and schedule management. Experience in a FERC-jurisdictional or state-regulated investor-owned utility environment. Familiarity with NERC/WECC reliability standards applicable to generation interconnection, energization and commissioning. Experience managing long-lead OEM relationships for major power generation equipment (inverters, transformers, gas turbines, battery systems). Major Accountabilities

1) Establishes and enforces a zero-incident safety culture across all construction sites under management. Holds contractors accountable for meeting APS safety standards and contract requirements. Participates in site safety reviews, pre-task planning for high-risk work and incident reviews. Ensures serious incidents and near misses are reviewed, root causes are identified and corrective actions are completed. 2) Leads procurement, negotiation, award and administration of EPC and EPCM contracts across the project portfolio. Determines the appropriate contracting approach, including lump sum, cost-plus, EPCM or hybrid structures, based on project complexity, risk allocation, and market conditions. Works with Resource Management on RFP processes, bid evaluations and contractor selection. Reviews and approves change orders within delegated authority levels. Partners with Strategic Partnerships and Contracts on commercial strategy, master agreements and vendor governance to support commercially sound and defensible contract terms. 3) Directs construction execution across multiple generation projects. Manages owners engineer and independent technical oversight consultants for quality assurance, constructability review and technical dispute resolution.
