Job summary
As a Trade Operations Lead in Trade Operations, you will lead day-to-day delivery, operational resilience, and control outcomes for a trade operations coverage team. You will set priorities, manage escalations, and partner with internal stakeholders to provide timely updates and strong issue governance. You will coach and develop the team while driving process improvements that reduce operational risk and repeat issues.
Job responsibilities
Serve as the senior escalation point for high-impact trade breaks and settlement fails, driving timely resolution. Own operational risk management and controls for the process, ensuring documentation quality, evidence standards, and audit readiness. Manage stakeholder communications and service levels across internal partners, providing clear status updates, timelines, and risk escalations. Lead the team through coaching, performance management, cross-training, and coverage planning to support business continuity. Drive continuous improvement initiatives (standardization, efficiency, and automation opportunities) to reduce manual effort and recurring issues. Required qualifications, capabilities and skills Demonstrated understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle for equities, exchange-traded funds, and mutual funds, including reconciliations, corporate actions, and exception management. Hands-on experience building and supporting Python automation for data processing, reconciliations, and reporting, including strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., data validation, pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas) for reconciliations, trackers, and break analysis. Demonstrated operational risk and controls mindset, including maintaining procedures, producing evidence, and sustaining audit readiness. Demonstrated ability to develop practical solutions that reduce operational risk and manual effort. Strong stakeholder management skills, including confident communication during time-sensitive situations. Experience leading process improvement initiatives in an operations environment. People leadership experience, including coaching and raising team quality and consistency. 12 years of relevant experience in trade operations or a closely related operations function. Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills Master’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments. Advanced stakeholder management skills to drive timely decisions and remove bottlenecks. Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills in ambiguous, fast-changing settings. Experience building rapport and aligning diverse partner groups to enable cross-functional execution. Experience applying structured change management and operational readiness practices to improve delivery outcomes. Experience leading teams through the adoption of AI-enabled analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to improve operational efficiency and accuracy, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, well-controlled execution through coaching, change adoption, and continuous improvement
