Junior Environmental Scientist / Engineer in Training / Environmental Technologist Contaminated Sites Play an integral role in Worley Consulting’s Environmental & Sustainability (E&S) practice, where technical expertise, environmental stewardship, and practical problem solving come together to help clients manage environmental liabilities, restore impacted sites, and support sustainable development. As part of our Contaminated Sites team, you will contribute to projects that support remediation, decommissioning, reclamation, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance across a diverse range of industries. Purpose of the role As a Junior Environmental Scientist, Engineer in Training, or Environmental Technologist , you will support the delivery of environmental assessment, remediation, reclamation, decommissioning, and monitoring projects. You will play an important role in collecting high-quality environmental data, supporting field investigations, and contributing to technical project deliverables that help clients meet regulatory obligations and environmental performance objectives. Working collaboratively with environmental scientists, engineers, technologists, project managers, contractors, and clients, you will help deliver safe, efficient, and technically sound solutions while developing practical consulting experience and advancing your professional growth. Location(s) Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta This is a full-time position based in Worley Consulting’s Edmonton or Calgary office. The role includes frequent travel throughout Alberta and may involve assignments in the Northwest Territories and other northern or Arctic regions. Field programs may require rotational schedules, remote-site work, extended travel, and work in challenging environmental conditions. You will be responsible for Conducting environmental fieldwork in support of site assessment, remediation, reclamation, decommissioning, and environmental monitoring programs. Collecting soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and other environmental samples following approved procedures and regulatory requirements. Supporting drilling programs, test pitting investigations, environmental monitoring programs, remedial excavations, and site restoration activities. Logging and characterizing soil conditions, including soil texture, classification, and field observations. Operating and maintaining environmental monitoring and sampling equipment. Recording accurate field observations and maintaining detailed field documentation using established quality assurance and quality control procedures. Supporting the preparation of field summaries, technical reports, environmental documentation, and project deliverables. Assisting with project logistics, scheduling, procurement of supplies, equipment preparation, and contractor coordination. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality environmental consulting services for clients across the energy, industrial, mining, resource, infrastructure, and emerging energy sectors. Participating in remote northern field programs, including projects requiring specialized logistics, rotational schedules, and work in isolated environments. Building strong working relationships with project teams, contractors, and client representatives. Supporting environmental stewardship initiatives and promoting sustainable project outcomes. Demonstrating a strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental responsibility in all activities. Working safely in varying terrain and weather conditions, including extended periods outdoors and physically demanding field environments. What you’ll bring to
