We're looking for a Sr Scientist Substrate Technology in Neuchatel to lead the development, characterization, industrialization, and deployment of innovative substrate materials for next-generation smoke-free products and related platforms!

Impact You'll Own

• Lead research programs to develop and commercialize new substrate solutions.

• Define material formulations, experimental approaches, processing parameters, and performance requirements.

• Generate scientific evidence supporting product performance, quality, regulatory compliance, and innovation decisions.

What You'll Do

• Lead multidisciplinary R&D activities from concept to industrial implementation within a Project-Based Organization (PBO).

• Coordinate laboratory, pilot, manufacturing, and external partner activities.

• Drive technology transfer and manufacturing readiness.

• Support sustainability initiatives, technology scouting, and intellectual property generation.

• Maintain technical documentation and specifications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business, product, quality, and sustainability objectives.

Skills & Experience

• MSc or PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in material and product development, industrialization, process optimization, and project management.

• Strong scientific problem-solving skills in multidisciplinary environments.

• Knowledge of laboratory techniques, method development and validation, and analytical chemistry.

• Experience in product innovation and intellectual property strategy.

• Critical thinking, creativity, and data-driven decision-making skills.
