Main responsibilities: As the Production Supervisor at our bread production facility, you will be responsible for managing the daily production operations, ensuring that production schedules are met while maintaining the highest quality standards. You’ll lead and motivate a team of production workers, monitor equipment performance, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting training, and collaborating with other departments to resolve any production issues. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering consistently high-quality bread products to our customers. Production Oversight:
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all production processes. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Staff Supervision
Lead, supervise, and support production associates. Compose and deliver performance evaluations. Corrective action notices and provide constructive feedback.
Quality Control
Train, monitor, and enforce quality control standards. Address and rectify issues affecting product quality.
Inventory Management
Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory. Coordinate with the supply chain to optimize stock levels.
Process Optimization
Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose scalable solutions. Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Safety Compliance
Enforce and promote safety protocols. Conduct regular safety training for production personnel.
Communication
Effectively collaborate with site cross-functional partners. (e.g., quality, logistics, maintenance). Relay information accurately, in detail, and respectfully effectively to ensure smooth operations.
Training and Development
Train new production employees. Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Problem Resolution
Address and resolve production-related issues promptly. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.) Keep abreast of industry regulations and update procedures accordingly.
Equipment Maintenance
Coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment. Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Documentation
Maintain accurate production records and reports. Generate reports for management on production metrics.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following: All other duties as assigned. We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
Two (2) or more years of leadership experience in a production environment. One (1) or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles. Strong leadership background – ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce. Ability to manage and develop employees. Strong skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, - PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
