About this role
We, at Leggett & Platt Flooring Products, are searching for a EHS Specialist to support the Safety and Environmental responsibilities at our Tracy, California branch. The EHS Specialist will work closely with the Branch Manager and Division Safety Manager to help implement and coordinate corporate programs. Approximately 80% of this person’s time will be spent on Safety initiatives and 20% on Environmental. The Tracy, California facility spans approximately 165,000 square feet and employs around 100 team members. This role provides the opportunity for diverse responsibilities every day in our manufacturing setting and will help ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and government mandated regulations. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives. So, what will you be doing as a EHS Specialist?
Coordinate and implement corporate EHS programs and initiatives Complete required EHS and sustainability reports Conduct employee training as required to meet company policy and OSHA requirements Coordinate annual audiograms and respirator fit testing for employees Evaluate/provide employees with proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual inspections as required Investigate all safety and environmental incidents Collaborate with leadership to eliminate or reduce safety risk/hazards Facilitate monthly safety meetings Facilitate monthly safety committee meetings and records Maintain OSHA 300 log and required EHS documents Oversee compliance with annual environmental and safety permit requirements Arrange/track disposal of hazardous waste Evaluate plant waste streams Manage corrective actions associated with reported incidents Other duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, you'll need
2+ years of Safety experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting Experience with Benchmark Gensuite, Watershed or similar EHS applications Ability to implement pre-designed programs Strong verbal and written communication skills Well organized, detail oriented and good computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Knowledge of OSHA and EPA laws and regulations Experience in the application of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques
Things we consider a plus
Bilingual (English and Spanish) Leadership experience in both Safety and Environmental capacities in a manufacturing environment Bachelor’s degree
