As a Display Systems Engineer for John Deere's Construction & Forestry (C&F) division in Dubuque, IA you will:

Define and document display system requirements, user workflows, and functional specifications to support customer and product needs Develop and maintain subsystem requirements, interface definitions, and technical documentation for vehicle display systems Coordinate integration of displays with controllers, sensors, diagnostics, telematics, and other machine systems Support system verification and validation activities, including test planning, issue investigation, and requirements traceability Collaborate with software, product design, vehicle, and validation teams to deliver integrated display solutions

Understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements development, requirements traceability, and system validation Ability to define user workflows and functional requirements with a focus on operator experience and machine usability Knowledge of vehicle communication networks and diagnostics, including CAN/J1939 protocols Demonstrated problem-solving skills to investigate issues, evaluate alternatives, and support system integration activities Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across software, vehicle, controls, validation, and product engineering teams Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 10%

What Makes You Stand Out

Hands-on experience defining user workflows, interfaces, or system requirements through internships, design projects, or engineering teams Demonstrated understanding of human-machine interaction and a passion for improving operator experience through intuitive display designs Experience working with vehicle electronics, controllers, sensors, diagnostics, or CAN-based communication networks Experience with embedded Linux, Qt/QML, graphics frameworks, or display application development CAN, USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth communications experience Ability to bridge technical and non-technical perspectives by effectively collaborating across software, vehicle, validation, and product teams Experience with technology solutions used in the construction industry, such as grade control and GNSS, telematics, etc. Familiarity with operating Construction, Forestry, or Ag off-road equipment

Education
