About this role
The role
As a Product Strategy Lead for Trading Products, you will play a critical role in shaping the long-term strategic direction, profitability, and commercial success of Nasdaq’s trading product portfolio. You will be part of a leadership team accountable for defining product investment themes, building a 12–36 month strategic vision, and ensuring alignment with Nasdaq’s broader strategic priorities. This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role where you will partner across Product Management, Software Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Client Success, and other teams to identify market opportunities, guide product direction, and support high-value client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Define and drive the long-term product strategy for Nasdaq’s trading products, including investment themes, product initiatives, and a 12–36 month strategic vision aligned with Nasdaq’s strategic themes. Create, track, and communicate yearly objectives and key results for each product line to ensure alignment between the strategic vision, product roadmap, business priorities, and commercial goals. Identify and evaluate new global product and market opportunities across products, services, technologies, and geographies, developing business plans to support decision-making across the matrix organization. Lead early-stage client and prospect engagements in collaboration with Sales, ensuring a product-first approach and shaping strong value propositions from early engagement through to contract. Own and manage pre-sales activities, including design studies, feasibility studies, client prioritization, pricing profiles, go-to-market strategies, and overall scope approval for client deliveries. Partner closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, Client Success, and Project Management to align client needs, product roadmap, delivery scope, and long-term strategic direction. Use client feedback, competitive analysis, voice-of-customer insights, market trends, and historical data to guide product decisions, prioritization, pricing considerations, and work allocation across strategic, tactical, support, and maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience in product strategy or strategic product leadership, with the ability to translate market opportunities into clear product initiatives, business cases, and commercial plans. Deep understanding of capital markets, market structure, trading, or financial market infrastructure. Product knowledge of trading technology or market infrastructure solutions; knowledge of Nasdaq’s existing trading products, such as Eqlipse, X-Stream and INET or the ability to quickly build this expertise. Ability to work in a client-facing capacity with clients and prospects, including leading strategic discussions, shaping proposals, and managing complex stakeholder expectations. Experience supporting or leading pre-sales activities for complex technology, trading, or market infrastructure solutions, including feasibility studies, design studies, or product investment recommendations. Experience working across virtual and globally distributed teams, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across Product, Technology, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Client Success. Strong commercial mindset and excellent communication skills, with the ability to assess pricing, profitability, market demand, competitive positioning, and present product strategy to senior stakeholders, internal teams, and external clients. This position is located in London, or Stockholm, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment of at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
