What You Will Do Highly skilled employees in the mechanical maintenance craft who applies a broad level of process and mechanical/maintenance knowledge to maximize and, where possible, improve the efficiency of the overall production process. Among these workers are machinists, heavy machinery mechanics, skilled automotive technicians, certified welders, pump rebuild mechanics and specialized maintenance mechanic personnel. Employee will work autonomously under required supervision where the primary objective is safe production. Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation Ability to repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, and perform preventative maintenance of process equipment i.e. pumps, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, filters, etc. Capable of performing equipment lubrication. Competent in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, conveyor systems, plumbing, alignment, machine shop, and mobile equipment. Qualified to operate small and large cranes and knowledgeable of safe rigging practices. Follows and understands MSHA and/or OSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, uses plant and equipment correctly at all times. Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business need. What You Bring To Freeport Minimum Requirements: Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance. Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude. FPM Diagnostic Mechanic I: The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety. Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills. Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED 5+ years of experience as a mechanic in an acid plant environment. 5+ years of experience maintaining and rebuilding Lewis pumps and valves. 5+ years of experience working within Process Safety Management (PSM) standards. 5+ years of experience maintaining hot gas fan systems, including rotors, Babbitt bearings, louvers, and carbon seals. 5+ years of experience maintaining radial-flow scrubbers, pumps, valves, and fiberglass piping
