Summary
The Counsel, will provide legal guidance to GPC stakeholders in the assigned area, Areas for guidance of the Counsel will be identified between intellectual property and information technology, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and employment law. The Counsel, will join a growing, collegial legal team at the Atlanta, GA headquarters of Genuine Parts Company, a Fortune 200 publicly listed company (NYSE: GPC). The candidate will report to one of GPC’s Senior Counsel. The successful candidates will be self-motivated, driven, team-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic public company environment.
Responsibilities
Advise on matters pertaining to assigned area. Negotiate agreements. Manage an international portfolio of trademarks and related IP Oversee and participate in legal and cross-functional due diligence. Advise General Counsel and senior management on various matters. Provide strategic advice on a wide range of general legal of assigned area Review legal aspects of social media postings and related digital offerings, privacy policies, advertising content, press releases, and internal communications Assist on compliance with regulatory requirements relating to global company activities Participate in legal and cross-functional M&A due diligence and post-acquisition IT/IP integration efforts Function as a trusted adviser to GPC’s Leadership and department leaders Liaise with outside counsel regarding their assignments Preferred Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree, Juris Doctorate degree, and a member of the State Bar of Georgia (or an ability to waive in) Significant experience in relevant legal area Willingness to take on non-core competency matters specifically, commercial leases, sales and supply contracts, NDA’s, and IT agreements) Minimum of 4 years’ practice with an established law firm or corporate legal department Proven ability to manage internal and external relationships Exceptional communicator Self-starter and responsive Able to work collaboratively Team player Strong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple business objectives and projects with the proper sense of urgency Not the right fit?
