Accountant, Google One

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. In this role, you will join the Controllership team, supporting Google One, a business with subscribers and growth for Google One’s Artificial Intelligence offering, and Google Photos. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, revenue recognition, contract reviews, journal entries, product profit and loss preparation, and month-end close for Google One. Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis, Product, and Engineering to build financial systems, streamline workflows, and implement internal controls to mitigate risk. Prepare quarterly SEC disclosures, fulfill regulatory compliance requirements, and present financial results and ad-hoc analysis to leadership. Automate and centralize accounting workflows while managing external service providers to ensure timely, high-quality execution. Evaluate financial implications of new business deals and offer actionable accounting direction to Sales and Product partners.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA). 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance. Preferred qualifications: Experience managing project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and project documentation. Ability to have strong attention to detail, organizational skills and focus on continuous improvement. Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams. Ability to propose next steps and roadblock solutions and anticipate questions and issues early, manage time, and follow work plans. Excellent investigative skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive management.
